he’s done a nice job there. he is missing out on a lot of vertical space though and any of those leafy greens should be in a raft rather than gravel. save the gravel for root crops and larger veggies.
i’ve decided on a 5000l tank to start, tilapia and shrimp or crawfish, to support a couple of 20ft rafts, a 20ft gravel bed and some vertical space. i’m going to set up the tank in a particular way that will allow me to open a cover at night and have a few bright lights over it to “feed” the fish.
i think i’m pretty determined at this point to get this one up and running and if it produces anywhere near what i’d like it to (consider that i live in the tropics with year round growing without lights or heat), i can expand it 4 times over in my current location and just do this for my day job.
i’m also not a proponent of SHTF planning. always seemed self defeating to me. i prefer to think of it as independent, independence, self sufficiency and free.
